This policy explains what Hathor Entertainment LLC collects through hathorent.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
What you send us. When you send a brief, submit music, ask about a license or subscribe to the newsletter, we receive what you type: your name, your email address, and whatever you tell us about your project or your work. If you submit music, we also receive the links or files you send and the writer and ownership information you provide.
What the server records. Like most websites, ours logs the address of the device requesting a page, the page requested, the time, and the browser used. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and analytics. The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, and analytics that tell us which pages are read. Analytics tells us about pages, not about people we can identify by name.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build profiles of you for marketing.
Why we hold it
To answer you. To consider a submission. To negotiate, issue and administer a license. To register works and account for royalties where we administer them. To send the newsletter you asked for. To run and secure the site.
Who else sees it
We use service providers to run the business: website hosting, email delivery, analytics and file storage. They may process information on our behalf, under contract, only to provide their service to us.
Where we administer publishing, the information required to register a work and collect on it is shared with the performing rights organization and the other collection bodies that pay on it. That is how registration works, and a work that is never registered is money nobody is looking for.
We disclose information outside that where the law requires it, where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim, or where you ask us to send it to someone.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not go anywhere are kept while they are useful and then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Submissions are kept as a record of what was sent and when, because that record protects both sides. Information connected to a signed agreement is kept for as long as the agreement and the law require.
Your choices
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Where a record is one we are required to keep, or one that documents a signed agreement, we will tell you that rather than quietly keep it.
If you are in California
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion, to request correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, contact us and we will verify who you are before we act, because the point of verification is to keep someone else from making the request for you.
Children
This site is meant for adults working in music and media. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect what we hold, including encryption in transit and access limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top, and for material changes we will post a notice on the site.
