FAQS
Frequently asked
Do I give up my sound recordings?
No. You own your sound recordings and your compositions and go on owning both. Hathor licenses the sound recordings from you, with the right to license them onward, which is what lets a placement be cleared. It takes an administration right in the compositions for the term. Both revert at the end of it.
What is the difference between the two deal paths?
Path A is self funded: you fund your career, Hathor advances nothing and recoups nothing, and the commission is 15 percent. Path B is Hathor funded: Hathor advances approved costs and recoups them from your income at a 20 percent commission. The license and administration terms are the same on both.
Does Hathor manage artists?
No. Artist management sits with Rhythm & Brands, which is a separate company. Hathor works with you through label services, and its clients are recording artists rather than songwriters or producers on their own.
Who registers the works, and with whom?
Hathor does, as part of the administration function. The performing rights organization is SESAC.
