Our commitment

Hathor Entertainment exists so that music reaches the people who can use it and the people who want to hear it. That is worth very little if the material cannot be reached, so we treat accessibility as part of whether the work lands rather than as an extra.

What we do

The site is built to work with a keyboard alone, to keep a visible focus indicator, to label every form field properly, and to describe images that carry meaning. Headings follow a real order so a screen reader can move through a page by structure rather than by guessing.

We hold running text to combinations that carry enough contrast to be read comfortably. Our gold and our silver are used for accents, rules and field markers, never for body text, because neither carries enough contrast against ivory to be read at length.

Where we publish spoken word rather than music, we provide a transcript, because an interview that can only be heard reaches fewer people than one that can also be read. Audio players are operable by keyboard and are never set to play on their own.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, at level AA, and we check against it as we build rather than only at the end.

Where we know we fall short

This is an honest list rather than a complete one. Some third party tools we rely on, including streaming, file delivery and video services, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard. Some older material may not yet carry a transcript. Where we find a gap we fix it rather than document it and move on.
